A year later ...

Well, it only took 1 year, 1 month and 17 days for me to do my second blog post.  Lots of life and lots of blessing have happened in the past year ... I won't try to summarize (I know your smiling and relieved to know that).  How about if I just start where I am now?

Faith:
Currently involved in a ministry along with others from my church and am blessed to be able to work with the kids on Sunday nights during the worship service.  Kid's Church has been a tremendous blessing.  That's usually how it goes ... you aim to be a blessing and you seem to receive more than you give.

Family:
Plugging along and trusting God to get us through each day.  We've had some challenges recently but as it's written in a recent song, the trials can be considered blessings when they draw us closer to Him.

Fabric:
Recently did a sew along for the first time.  I had a lot of fun with this and made a tote bag.  Hosted by I Have to Say ....  Here's a link to the step by step photos.

My next fabric fun is my first ever quilt along.  Hosted by Crazy Mom Quilts.

Note:  My format may change as I continue to blog and decide what detail to share.  Faith and Family will have limited details and photos to protect other's privacy even though they are my top priorities.

Thank you God for another year to love you, serve you and draw closer to you.

Marvelous May

I am starting my blogging experience with a recap of the month of May.  It was a busy month.  The most significant happening was:

May 16 - Husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary.  I love my husband and am thankful for what God has brought us through to bring us to where we are now.

And . . .

My mama enjoyed her first month of retirement.

My parents went to Texas and were able to visit their great granddaughter for the first time.

We celebrated Mother's Day - we are so thankful for our mothers.

Biopsy came back pre-cancer.  So glad I do the self-exams and that there is something they can do to treat.

I spent a week in Orlando for business and all went well.  Turned out to be a fun trip.  I have great co-workers.  Also, outside of work, visited five different quilt shops.

Our garden is producing delicious cherry tomatoes.  Almost everything we planted is growing well.

My cousin gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.  Mama and baby are doing fine!

The Althea (a.k.a. Rose of Sharon) my daddy planted for me on September 26, 2009, started blooming.  I was greeted with the scene below when I arrive home from my business trip.

Each day is a blessing.  Thank you Lord!
